New Player FAQ

Quick answers to the questions every newcomer to Vashrath asks — classes, healing, stamina, currencies, gear, incursions and more.

Fresh from the awakening and full of questions? You are not the first. Here are the answers newcomers ask for most.

Do I need to choose a class?

No — Vashrath has no classes. Your hero is defined by race, by the six attributes you train and by the gear you wear. Any race can pursue any style of fighting. See Your Hero for the full picture.

What should I train first?

There is no single right answer, but a safe opening is to train broadly: some Vitality to stay standing, some Strength to hit harder, and a spread across the rest. Once you feel your style emerging — blocking everything, critting hard, outlasting foes — lean your gold in that direction.

I lost a fight. Did I lose my items?

No. When your health reaches zero you are carried to the hospital, wounded but whole. Your gold, your equipment and your inventory stay exactly where they were. Defeat in Vashrath costs time, never possessions.

How do I heal?

Four ways. Drink a health potion for immediate relief. Pay the hospital for instant healing — quick, but there is a wait between uses. Admit yourself to the hospital to recover gradually for less coin, though you stay out of action while resting. Or simply let time do its slow, free work.

What is stamina for?

Stamina fuels your actions — expeditions and labor above all. When it runs dry you must rest before setting out again. Stamina potions and a good meal help you get back on your feet faster.

What are the four currencies?

Gold is the everyday coin: training, shops, trade. Renown measures your fame in battle against other adventurers. Prestige is earned through great deeds across the realm. Gems — known in lore as Ancestral Debris, rare stones from the frozen north — are the realm's most precious currency, reserved for its finest luxuries.

Where do I get better gear?

Everywhere, if you know where to look: the three city merchants sell honest basics; expedition spoils can surprise you; the Market lets you buy from other players; the Auction offers rare pieces to the highest bidder; and the four crafts let you forge, temper and cook your own advantages. Remember: equipping an item binds it to you forever.

When do incursions unlock?

At level 10 the Countess herself brings the news: the Incursions open to you. First you hire companions through Contracts, then assemble a party and descend into the sealed dominions. Read the Incursions Guide before your first descent.

Should I sell to a merchant or on the Market?

Merchants pay instantly and modestly — perfect for clearing out clutter. The Market is where other players pay real value for desirable items, especially good affixes and rarities. Rule of thumb: junk goes to the merchant, treasure goes to the Market. Bound items can do neither — they are yours alone.

Can I visit other cities?

Yes, and eventually you should. Five cities stand across Vashrath, each with its own markets, its own expeditions and its own dangers. Travel is a real journey — it costs gold and takes time on the road — so pack accordingly. New hunting grounds are worth the fare.

Is there anything I should do every day?

Check your challenges, spend your stamina, keep an eye on the Market for bargains, and never let gold sit idle when your attributes could be growing. The realm rewards the constant.
