The Hideout

Every hero can claim a plot of land in the wilds of Vashrath and raise a hideout — house, warehouse, stable and more.

A place of your own

Vashrath gives no one a home. It gives land — dangerous, unclaimed, indifferent land — and dares you to hold it. The hideout is a hero's answer to that dare: a private plot beyond the city walls where you raise your own buildings, shelter your companions, store your spoils and put down the only roots this world allows.

Cities belong to kings and comodores. The hideout belongs to you.

Claiming and reaching the grounds

The hideout sits out in the wilds, apart from any city, and getting there is a real trip like any other journey in Vashrath — it costs gold and takes time on the road. Treat it as one more destination in your travels: a stop to reorganize between hunts, not a pocket you open from anywhere.

The grounds start humble. What they become depends entirely on how much gold, effort and patience you pour into them.

The buildings

Each structure on your land serves a different part of a hero's life. The main ones:

The House

The heart of the hideout. This is where your household actually lives — your companions gather here between ventures, and the house is where you look after them. A larger, better house makes the whole plot feel less like a camp and more like a home.

The Warehouse

A traveler's bag only holds so much. The warehouse is your deep storage: spare equipment, hoarded materials, spoils you are not ready to sell. Crafters and collectors outgrow their pockets fast; the warehouse is what keeps a serious operation running.

The Stable

Home for your animals. Mounts stabled here are the ones that shorten every road and let you carry more on expeditions; pets keep a different kind of company. If you intend to cross the continent often, the stable pays for itself.

The Toolshop

The working corner of the grounds, where a hero keeps the gear of the four crafts in order. A tidy toolshop is the mark of someone who takes forging, cooking and brewing seriously (see /wiki/how-to-play/professions-and-crafting).

The Trophy Hall

Proof of what you have done. The trophy hall exists to display the marks of your greatest hunts and proudest deeds — a room built for visitors to walk through slowly.

Progression: the land grows with you

Nothing on the plot arrives finished. The hideout advances in stages: you invest in the grounds, and each stage of growth opens more of what the land can hold and improves what is already standing. Buildings follow the same logic — a house can be enlarged, storage can be deepened, and every upgrade is bought with resources you earned out in the world.

There is no shortcut here, and that is the point. A veteran's hideout is a biography written in timber and stone: every extension marks a season of hunts that paid for it.

Making the most of it

  • Visit with a purpose. Since the trip costs gold and time, batch your errands — drop off spoils, check on companions, reorganize storage in one visit.
  • Build for how you play. A dedicated crafter fills the warehouse before anything else; a restless traveler invests in the stable first; a proud duelist wants the trophy hall gleaming.
  • Think long term. Upgrades are permanent. Gold spent on your land is gold no one can take from you — which, in Vashrath, makes it one of the safest investments there is (see /wiki/how-to-play/economy-and-trade).

In a world where everyone arrived with nothing, the hideout is the quiet counterargument: proof that even in the Forgotten Realms, something can be built to last.
