Expeditions Guide

Everything about expeditions in Vashrath — difficulties, the climb from first monster to boss, spoils, and how to choose your hunting grounds.

Beyond the walls

Expeditions are the hunts of Vashrath: swift strikes beyond the city walls, out where the banished monsters returned to do what they always did — hunt, migrate, dominate. Every expedition is a hunting ground with its own creatures, its own dangers and its own rewards, and it is where most heroes earn the bulk of their experience, gold and gear.

Each of the five cities keeps its own expeditions. The mist-covered hills of Cripta are only the beginning: travel the continent and you will find hunting grounds unlike anything near the gates where you awakened. New city, new monsters, new spoils.

Setting out

  1. Leave the city — the world beyond the walls holds the expedition grounds.
  2. Choose an expedition by its emblem on the region map.
  3. Pick a difficulty.
  4. Pick a foe from those available.
  5. Charge. The battle resolves in automatic turns, and the report tells the tale.

Expeditions draw on your stamina, and there is a short wait between one sortie and the next — the timer on your screen tells you when you may set out again. Plan your hunting around it: rest, restock and study the next target while the road clears.

Difficulties

Every expedition offers a ladder of difficulty levels. The rule is as old as hunting itself: the harder the ground, the stronger the monsters — and the better the rewards. Higher difficulties field tougher versions of the region's creatures and pay accordingly in experience and spoils.

Start at the gentlest level of a new expedition, even if you feel strong. It costs little, teaches you the local monsters, and tells you honestly whether you are ready for the climb.

From first monster to boss

Within an expedition, the monsters form a progression. You begin against the weakest creatures of the region, and each kind you defeat opens the way to stronger ones — a climb through the local food chain that ends at the boss, the ruler of that hunting ground.

The climb is the heart of the expedition game. Every new foe is a harder check of your build; every one you conquer widens your hunting options and improves what you bring home. Felling a region's boss for the first time is a moment heroes remember — and the realm remembers with them.

Spoils

A defeated monster leaves behind more than a corpse:

  • Experience — the steady fuel of your levels.
  • Gold — the coin that pays for training and gear.
  • Loot — equipment, materials for the crafts, ingredients for the alchemist and the cook, and the occasional find worth a fortune on the Market.

The old hunters' saying holds: the stronger the monster, the finer the spoils. Higher difficulties and deeper foes in the progression yield better rewards — the risk is the price, the loot is the prize.

Choosing where to hunt

The realm is wide and your stamina is not. Where you spend it matters:

  • Hunt at your weight. The best ground is one where you win reliably without crawling back to the hospital after every fight. If victories cost most of your health, step down; if they cost nothing, step up — you are leaving rewards on the table.
  • Hunt with a purpose. Chasing levels? Favor the strongest foe you can beat sustainably. Chasing materials or ingredients? Different creatures and regions leave different things behind — hunt where what you need falls.
  • Read your reports. Battle reports show whether a fight was comfortable or a coin toss. Let them, not pride, choose your difficulty.
  • Travel. When a region has given you all it has, the road calls. Other cities hold other expeditions, and the journey — paid in gold and hours — is an investment that pays in fresh hunting grounds.

Before every sortie

A veteran's checklist: health full, stamina ready, potions in the bag, a meal in the belly, gear current for your level. Expeditions reward the prepared and bury the hasty.
